The original London Power 10W STUDIO amp was the world's first production amp with Power Scaling - a truly revolutionary product! - and it is still the icon for extreme flexibility of tone, especially at low volumes. This group of amps retains the multiple chokes and polypropylene filter caps in their supplies while providing a range of features to suit individual requirements. Any common octal-based tube type or combination can be used.
COMMON FEATURES
- Power Scale provides power adjustment from 10W down to milliwatts - London Power's trade-mark "unusably-loud to unusably quiet" dynamic range - over 44db
- Body or Valve-1 and Valve-2 access single-ended sounds
- Loud sets signal sensitivity when Limit is present, and works with Power Scale to retain a desired tone when Limit is not present
- Limit works with Power Scale to retain a desired tone
- Shape contours bass response
- Sparkle is like a 'presence' control
- Damping sets how tightly the speaker is controlled
- Triode-Ultra-Pentode sets the power tube operating mode
- Tweed or Tweed-Mix-Modern sets the bias method
- Match or Spkr-1 and Spkr-2 sets the speaker interface
STUDIO-10 (more info here) has the expanded complement of features, allowing direct access to many aspects of the circuit voicing, along with a preamp section with its own Gain and output Level controls and High and Low EQ, and dual speaker interfaces.
STUDIO VINTAGE (more info here) has the traditional feature set with just a single Preamp level control for its preamp section, and a single speaker output.
STUDIO ESSENCE (more info here) is as simple as an amp can be while still having great tone and versatility.
