Our tribute to a tone genius

Howard Dumble's gift as an amp builder is his ability to tweak each amp for the individual player. He often describes tone in terms of food, frequently referring to marshmallows. His amps have high headroom and are built to be played LOUD! Our tribute to him is meant to be played quietly.

The MINI-MARSHMALLOW has a CLEAN channel that is also the pre-gain for the DRIVE channel - just as in many of Howard's amps. We've added a panel control to the traditional Dumble DRIVE channel, hence FIRST GAIN, SECOND GAIN and DRIVE level controls. No need to disable the EQ for more gain here! The DRIVE channel has three voicing switches to expand the tonal range beyond the originals. Both the CLEAN and DRIVE channels have their own MID (shift ) and JAZZ switch option and share the three-way EQ. The Mid and Jazz functions are also individually controllable via foot-switch, as some Dumble amp players favour.

The effects loop follows with separate SEND and RETURN controls. The loop can be assigned to just one channel or be active all the time. It can also be individually controlled via foot-switch.

The power amp has LOUD, BODY and POWER SCALE controls. The POWER SCALE control can be assigned to one or the other channel or both. Its pristine output does not sound single-ended at all - due to the use of a toroidal OT and ultra-linear operation - that is, until you dial in SE-warmth with the BODY control! Push-pull mode allows five times as much power, and the BODY control still dials in warmth. Be as loud or as quiet as you wish. If you have to go truly loud, plug the amp through the SUPER SCALER.
