Like the northern lights, AURORA can be dark or bright, and provide many colours of illumination.
Simple controls allow easy access to clean and distorted tones. DRIVE, EDGE, SHIMMER, GRIND, LOUD, BODY and POWER SCALE provide continuously variable tone and loudness shaping. These few controls allow the player to access sounds from vintage Champ, Bassman, plexi, 800 and Vox tones - right up to modern ripping metal!
AURORA began as a "simple is more" design that morphed into a bigger chassis and acquired a lot of switches and other features. Player feedback suggested a return to the sleeker 2U format with simpler controls and rear tube access. AURORA's refined simplicity is one of sophistication and organic feel. It far exceeds the original design performance range but retains original ease of use.
AURORA's 25W output is loud enough for most stages. The power amp can be operated pristine clean or compressed or outright distorted - all without being any louder than you wish to be. Power Scaling lets YOU control how loud your cranked sound has to be. BODY allows either push-pull or traditional single-ended tones to be accessed over a continuous range, in both SE and PP modes.
AURORA's versatility is unparalleled for a single-channel amp - but typical for a London Power product. Four gain stages allow access to everything from pristine clean to ZEN transcendence; mild to wild; folk to surreal! The Body control allows AURORA to be as small as a Champ but with features and sounds no Champ could ever offer.
For those who need greater system flexibility, AURORA is available with an effects loop. The rear-panel Send control provides a buffered signal to external devices, while the Return gain can be adjusted for anything from pedals to line-level effects. This option may be added at the time of ordering.
