When
completely independent Power Scale controls
are needed, as in channel switching amps, a more sophisticated
circuit than the PSB
is required. The PS-Dual provides this versatility,
with foot-switchable access to the PS controls. The
switch control circuitry, footswitch and jacks are
included, and can control other shunt-connected jfet
switches in the audio path. The PS-Dual can
operate with any PSK-1/2/3
basic kit, regardless of other accessories, e.g.,
the FTC or PMS.
Some
players desire three or four Power Scale controls,
where some may be used as simple volume boosts. This
is an extension of the circuitry found in the PS-DUAL,
but requires a completely different footswitch interface.
The PS-TRIPLE and PS-QUAD use an IC
to provide direct-random-access from one setting to
another, with automatic cancellation of the previous
setting. Momentary footswitch buttons are used. A
pair of 5-pin DIN sockets is also provided, and the
user must make up a 5-wire cable with the matching
ends. Other cable types are possible, but that choice
is up to the kit builder.
