London Power's amplifiers contain only linear power supplies for Ultimate Performance. London Power's supplies are ruggedly built, yet provide precision low-noise performance incorporating much higher filter capacitance values than other instrument amps. In turn, our power supplies can support higher continuous ripple currents for longer periods of time. Active hum filtering or choke filtering is employed to produce the cleanest plate voltages for the tube circuitry. We've achieved our goal: the longest component life combined with the best performance possible.
The London Power 6/12 heater system accommodates both 6V and 12V heaters and is much quieter than the standard 6V heater wiring found in other brands. All heaters operate with a DC-standoff voltage, and in some models heater voltages are actively hum filtered and regulated. Auxiliary supplies for switching circuits and other audio functions are also highly filtered and well regulated.
With such massive power supplies, one might suppose that the dynamic sag quality of compression would be lost. But ... London Power builds dynamic effects like this into both the audio path and the supply. We wrote the book on it!
