London Power's 2U SUSTAINOR and STUDIO POWER AMP models are each two complete power amplifiers in one package. SUSTAINOR also has a highly flexible two-voice preamp. The audio paths are identical to each other, allowing stereo functionality along with subtle to extreme tonal differences between channels.
Each tube audio path is comprised of multiple boards, which connect together and are wired to front-panel control cards. Splitting the audio path into these physical pieces eases servicing. It is a fact of life that anything man-made will eventually require servicing of some sort and to deny this is folly.
Grounding is carefully wired and controlled amongst the cards, using London Power's Galactic Ground. Distributed capacitance places filtering where it should be local to the related circuits. High-voltage output stage signals are confined to the tube card. Mode switching for the output stage is placed right at the tubes, using power relays rated for high-voltage.
