The
QRK allows selection between up
to four voices in an amp. These may be individual channels,
channels with 'boost' options, etc., but represent distinct
tones that the player wishes to access. The QRK
allows direct random access from any one sound to any
other using four footswitch buttons. Each new selection automatically cancels the previous selection. Four LEDs indicate
the selection made, and the QRK can drive any number
of shunt-connected jfets from any of its control lines.
The QRK also has four drive lines for relays, if series switching is required, or for high-voltage and/or high/current switching.
Overlapped programming is possible with the QRK's two program areas - one for jfet control and one for relay control. Programming is as simple as soldering diodes into place, and "yesterday's" program is easily changed to "today's" choice. Overlapping allows one or more switches to enable a given function while also enabling other functions. For example, Switch-1 might be Channel-A 'on' with no effects, while Switch-2 might be Channel-A 'on' with effects also 'on'.
The
QRK operates from either a positive or a negative rail. Use -12V to be compatable
with n-channel jfets, and +12V to be compatible with p-channel jfets. Multiple QRKs can be
linked together either to extend selection past 1-of-4
or to provide multiple controller locations with two-way
communication.
The QRK comes with comprehensive notes, including schamtic diagrams, which describe the installation options.
